Cultural leadership and environmental sustainability

Prague, Czech Republic
19 June 2014

The Goethe Institut in Prague organised a seminar on sustainability in cooperation with Julie’s Bicycle and DOX Center for Contemporary Arts, which took place within the framework of the reSITE conference Cities and Landscapes of the New Economy. Marco Clausen from Nomadisch Grün (Nomadic Green) was invited to present his project Prinzessinnengärten (Princess Gardens). This project was launched in 2009 as a pilot at Moritzplatz in Berlin Kreuzberg, a site which had been a wasteland for over half a century. Along with friends, activists and neighbours, the group cleared away rubbish, built transportable organic vegetable plots and reaped the first fruits of their labour. This workshop was attended by partners from the local art scene in Prague and other cultural institutions from the Czech Republic.
